The annual Siracusa City Marathon takes place in Sicily with professional and amateur athletes competing from Italy and surrounding countries. Syracuse, Italy. The start of the competition is on Ortigia island, the historical centre of Syracuse, in the beautiful Piazza Duomo. The marathon rounds the island and then reaches the countryside which surrounds Syracuse (the legendary Ciane spring). The arrival is again on the Ortigia Island. The competition is for professional athletes (from Italy and other countries) and amateurs. The photos in the reportage show the first placed Emanuele Zenucchi, second placed, Oleh Ivanyuk and Monica Casiraghi, second place in the female category.
