Training for Naperville Women's Triathlon

Always wanted to try a tri but didn't know where to start?  This training is for you!

Join Certified USA Triathlon Coach, Sally Head, for clinics and weekly coached workouts preparing you for the Naperville Women's Triathlon on June 13.  Each week participants will receive a training plan for the upcoming week and the opportunity to participate in group bike rides, runs, and swims.  There will be clinics throughout the program addressing the swim, riding in a group, running after the bike ride, race day nutrition, and transitions. 

Program Requirements

Before you sign up for this program, you must be able to swim 400 yards and have access to a bike.  Women of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate. 

How often will we meet?

We will meet every Wednesday in LaGrange beginning April 7.  Depending on the weather, we will either be running or cycling.  At least twice during the session, we will be doing group swims practicing the swim start and transition.  The Wednesday sessions will last 1 hour.

Beginning Sunday, May 2, we will be heading out for longer bike rides.  Plan on being gone for 2 hours.  Don't worry, we won't be riding for 2 hours -- Sunday's will include clinic time.  We will cover topics such as changing a flat, riding with a group, riding and drinking water, etc.

When and where does the next camp start?

Currently, camps meet at Sedgwick Park in LaGrange at the corner of 47th and East Ave.   We will be running or biking outside no matter what the weather.

What do I need to bring?

Based on the workout, either running shoes or your bike.  A water bottle and a towel.  I encourage you to wear wicking clothing staying away from cotton. 

What are the benefits of working out with a coached group?

Working out with a group not only provides you with the accountability, you will have the opportunity to learn from an experienced triathlete and a triathlon coach.  Working out with a group pushes you farther than you would have gone on your own.  Whether this is your first triathlon or you are an experienced veteran, you will benefit from this program.

What is the cost (investment in myself)?

Group training with a certified triathlon coach has a registration fee of $199.  That includes 17 workouts and triathlon specific clinics.    This is a great opportunity to receive motivating triathlon coaching by a USA Triathlon certified coach of the cost of being privately coached.

When should I register?
